The SKN Direct-On-Line (DOL) Starter is an electrical control device, often manufactured by the SKN Bentex Group, used to directly connect a 3-phase or single-phase induction motor to the full line voltage.

It's primarily comprised of an electromagnetic contactor and an overload relay (often thermal or digital). The starter's core function is to provide essential protection to the motor against electrical faults like overloads, phase failure, and low/high voltage. Often enclosed in a robust metal or iron casing, SKN DOL starters are widely deployed in agricultural (pump sets) and industrial applications for simple, reliable motor starting and protection.

Starter is ruggedly constructed, totally enclosed and fixed in cast iron/ sheet metal frame for wall mounting. The starter enclosure is dust & vermin proof.

SKN Starter is ruggedly constructed, totally enclosed and fixed in sheet metal frame for wall mounting. An easily removable cover made of steel sheet completely encloses the overload relay and connection terminals to ensure protection form dust and weather. Oil tank made of deep drawn sheet is fixed with the lower part of the sheet metal frame and can be easily removed by loosening nuts on the left and right hand sides. The enclosure is dust and Vermin Proof. Press the start Knob (Green) to run the motor in ‘STAR’ position. When the motor has attained normal speed (i.e. 80 to 90%) press the run knob (yellow) to bring the motor to ‘DELTA’ position. Press Stop knob (Red) to stop the motor. The contactor assembly is comprised of three contactors:- one for MAIN, one for STAR and one for DELTA circuit with interlocking arrangements All the three contactors are dipped in an oil chamber having double break robust copper contacts. The coil is machine wound, taped vacuum impregnated and baked to suit tropical conditions. Thermal, bimetallic overload relay, triple pole accurately calibrated to provide protection against overloads.

The SKN Bentex 3 Phase Oil Submersible Panel is a dedicated Motor Control Panel (MCP) housed in a metal enclosure, primarily for controlling and protecting three-phase submersible pump motors used in agricultural bore-wells.

It integrates an oil-immersed starter (often Star-Delta or DOL) where contacts are submerged in oil to quench arcs, ensuring high durability. The panel provides critical protection against major faults like thermal overload, single phasing (loss of one power line), and voltage fluctuations (high/low voltage), which are common in rural power grids. The SKN Bentex BSD Motor Starter is a manually operated, oil-immersed Star-Delta starter used for controlling and protecting three-phase AC induction motors, commonly in agricultural (like submersible pumps) and industrial applications.

The Star-Delta mechanism is essential for motors typically ranging from 10 HP up to 60 HP, as it reduces the large initial starting current.  The SKN Bentex SSD Motor Starter is a common type of oil-immersed three-phase motor starter primarily used in Indian agricultural and industrial settings for submersible pumps and machinery.

 

"SSD" typically refers to an Oil Immersed Star-Delta Starter. This mechanism temporarily reduces the high starting current of large induction motors by initially connecting windings in a 'star' configuration, then switching to 'delta' for normal running.

 

The oil-immersion helps in suppressing the electrical arc that occurs during switching, thereby enhancing contact life and overall durability. It provides essential protection against thermal overload and electrical faults for motors generally ranging 

The SKN Single-Phase Oil Submersible Panel is a heavy-duty control unit, historically designed for the direct starting and protection of single-phase oil-immersed submersible pump motors (1HP to 5HP).

The "Oil Submersible" designation refers to the older, robust design where the starter components (contactor, thermal overload relay, and capacitor) were submerged in oil inside a metal tank for enhanced cooling and insulation.
